Please read these terms carefully before booking a vehicle with iNdlovu Car Rental and Safari, a registered car rental company based in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. These terms apply to all rentals of our self‑owned fleet of SUVs, double cabs, sedans, and hatchbacks (including Toyota Fortuner, Hilux, Corolla, and Auris as examples). By booking with us, you agree to these terms.

1. Driver Requirements

The minimum age to rent a vehicle from iNdlovu Car Rental and Safari is 18 years. All drivers must present a valid, unexpired driver’s licence at the time of pickup. International visitors must obtain a Zimbabwean Temporary Driver’s Permit (TDP) before driving. The TDP is available at any port of entry (airport or border post) or at our office in Bulawayo and takes approximately ten minutes to issue. A small fee applies, payable directly to the issuing authority. We do not charge for assisting you with this process.

2. Required Documents at Pickup

When you collect your vehicle, you must provide the following original documents:

– A valid driver’s licence (and Temporary Driver’s Permit if you are an international visitor)
– Your passport or national ID card
– Proof of your home address (a recent utility bill or bank statement)
– A general outline of your travel plan in Zimbabwe

We reserve the right to refuse rental if these documents are not provided.

3. Booking and Payment

Rental rates start from US$50 per day. The final rate depends on the vehicle category and rental duration. We accept payment in cash (US dollars), bank transfer, Visa, and Mastercard. There is no card surcharge. A refundable security deposit is required for every rental. The deposit amount depends on the vehicle type and the length of your rental; we confirm the exact amount at the time of booking. The deposit is refunded after the vehicle is returned undamaged, with a full tank of fuel, and within the agreed kilometre allowance.

4. Cancellation Policy

If you cancel your reservation more than 48 hours before your scheduled pickup time, you receive a full refund of any amounts paid. If you cancel within 48 hours of pickup, we retain 20% of the total rental cost to cover the reservation we held for you.

5. Insurance and Excess

Comprehensive insurance is included in your daily rental rate. If you are at fault in an accident (as determined by the police report or our assessment), you are responsible for paying a fixed excess amount. The excess amount is disclosed to you in writing before you sign the rental agreement. The excess covers damage to the vehicle, third‑party property damage, and any towing or recovery costs arising from the incident.

6. Fuel Policy

We deliver every vehicle with a full tank of fuel. You must return the vehicle with a full tank. If you return the vehicle without a full tank, we will charge you for the missing fuel at the current pump price plus a service fee of US$5. We do not refund unused fuel if you return the vehicle with more than a full tank.

7. Kilometre Policy

Each rental day includes a free kilometre allowance: 200 kilometres per day for sedans and hatchbacks; 250 kilometres per day for SUVs and double cabs. The allowance resets each rental day; unused kilometres do not carry over to the next day. If you exceed the daily allowance, you will be charged an excess kilometre rate. The current excess kilometre rate is available on request at the time of booking.

8. Cross‑Border Travel

All vehicles rented from iNdlovu Car Rental and Safari must remain within the borders of Zimbabwe. Cross‑border travel is not permitted. Any violation of this policy will result in immediate termination of the rental agreement, loss of the security deposit, and additional penalties as provided by law.

9. Vehicle Return and Late Fees

Vehicles must be returned to the agreed location on or before the return date and time stated in your rental agreement. If you return the vehicle late, you will be charged an additional day’s rental for each full or partial day the vehicle is overdue. After‑hour returns may be arranged with prior written agreement; if we have not agreed to an after‑hour return, you remain responsible for the vehicle until we collect it during our next business day.

10. Roadside Assistance

Your rental includes 24‑hour roadside assistance anywhere in Zimbabwe. If you experience a mechanical breakdown, flat tyre, or other mechanical issue, we will dispatch a mechanic or arrange a replacement vehicle. This service is included in your daily rate. Costs arising from driver error – such as damage from an accident, driving into floodwaters, or using incorrect fuel – are not covered and will be charged to you.

11. Driver‑Guided Tour Service

If you book our driver‑guided tour service (available at extra cost), the driver is an employee of iNdlovu Car Rental and Safari. The driver will handle navigation, language interpretation, and local knowledge. You are not permitted to drive the vehicle while the driver‑guided service is active unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. The driver’s working hours are subject to Zimbabwean labour laws; extended hours may incur additional charges.

12. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the vehicle for any illegal activity, racing, towing (unless the vehicle is equipped with a tow bar and you have our written permission), or carrying more passengers than the vehicle’s registered capacity. You may not smoke in the vehicle. You may not take the vehicle off‑road in areas where driving is prohibited by law or by the terms of your rental. You may not sub‑rent the vehicle to any third party.

13. Liability

iNdlovu Car Rental and Safari is not liable for any loss or damage to your personal belongings left in the vehicle, for any delays caused by road conditions, weather, accidents, or mechanical failures beyond our reasonable control, or for any fines or penalties you incur for traffic violations during your rental period. You are fully responsible for all parking tickets, speeding fines, and other traffic offences.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your booking applies to your rental. We will post any changes on this page.

15. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe. Any dispute arising from your rental will be resolved in the courts of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
